The IPL 2025 match between PBK and DC was closed after a game of just 10.1 overs in the first innings at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, causing blackouts in Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur due to wind and drone attacks from Pakistan, which were near the hill station.

As soon as the game was closed and the audience was designed to evacuate the stadium calmly, the players of both teams and support staff members along with other personnel working around the game in Dharamshala returned to their respective hotels safely under tight security.

Dharamshala is a no-fly zone, like other Northern Indian cities, the main concern among the top people at BCCI was how to make sure players and other stakeholders to go out of Dharamshala safely. A late night dialogue between the BCCI top officials and the Indian Railways ensured that they would go from Dharamshala to a convoy of buses from Jalandhar and board their train in New Delhi.

β€œThe plan was earlier to carry the train from Pathankot to New Delhi, but from the security point of security and safety of the players, Jalandhar finally looked very safe in the end. With the help of police from both Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, with other security officers, everything was told to be watched by the Jalandar, Jalander and then renewed to the Jalandar to read everything.

The Indian Premier League also posted a post on X, thanked the Railway Ministry for the train arrangements on Twitter in the east.

To ensure complete confidentiality of a long journey of about 12-hour, every person was not told in buses from their respective hotels in Dharamshala and told anything before hand, where they will board the train to go to New Delhi.

Even if someone knew about the details, they were asked to maintain confidentiality due to very strict security reasons and were avoided to post anything about it on any platform including social media platforms, until they reached New Delhi.

Earlier, IPL 2025 was suspended by BCCI on Friday afternoon for a week, which was due to cross -border tension between India and Pakistan. The tournament completed 58 matches, in which 12 matches were yet to be played in league stage and were then played. It remains to be seen how the situation comes out in the next few days, so that a window is found to resume the tournament.
