Most of the foreign recruitments in the IPL franchise left for their respective countries on Saturday after a high-profile T20 league, which stopped for a week due to India-Pakistan border tension. The Indian Premier League (IPL) was suspended on Friday, when the midway was released after an alert alert in the neighboring cities of Jammu and Pathankot, a day after the match in Dharamasala in the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capital match. Along with suspending the tournament, players and assistant employees of various franchisees have started coming back to their homes, while many foreign players are home-bounds.
RCB said in a statement, βOur players and extended employees have safely returned to Bengaluru and now they are homebounds for their cities and countries.β
RCBβs foreign troops include Tim David, Liam Livingstone, Jacob Bethel, Romario Shepherd, Philip Salt, Josh Hazelwood, Lungi Cash and Nuwan Thaushara.
The foreign assistant staff stars head coach Andy Flower, bowling coach Adam Griffith, Cricket Operation Director Mo Bobat, Team Physio Ivan Speciel and analyst Freddy Wilde.
RCBβs statement said, βWe are deeply grateful to BCCI, local authorities and police for rapid coordination and support, who made it possible.β
An LSG official also confirmed PTI that some of his foreign players flew out on Saturday, while some others opted to stay back for the time.
For other franchisees such as Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), both domestic and international players have also left for their respective places.
According to a source, KKR players were released from Hyderabad, where they faced Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday.
After the closure of the IPL match in Dharmasala, the players of Punjab Kings and Delhi Capital arrived in New Delhi on Friday and fled to Jalandhar railway station in batches through Hoshiarpur through Hoshiarpur amidst tight security.
The squad arrived in New Delhi, a special βVande Bharat Expressβ.
Punjab Kings (PBK) sources said that most of their foreign players have left for the house.
Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said that after comprehensive evaluation of the situation in consultation with relevant officers and stakeholders, the revised programs and updates about the locations will be shared for the remaining of the tournament.
The suspension of the IPL comes in view of Indiaβs missile strike, which targets terrorist infrastructure across the border in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
On 22 April, attacks were carried out in response to the Pahgam terror attack, in which 26 people lost their lives.
