New Delhi: Mumbai Indians won an exciting 12 runs against Delhi Capital in a high scoring competition at Arun Jaitley Stadium here on Sunday. Batting for the first time after being invited, MI performed a spectacular 205 for 5. Tilak Verma led the charge with 59 well -prepared from 33 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes. He received concrete support from Ryan Recelton (41), Suryakumar Yadav (40), and Naman Dhir, who remained unbeaten on 38.
For Delhi, Kuldeep Yadav was a standout bowler, claiming 2 wickets for just 23 runs in his four overs. However, MI proved to be challenging, especially when dew began to play a role in the game later.
Chasing 206, Delhiβs capitals landed for a solid start, but had to face late collapse. Karun Nairβs explosive knock out of just 40 balls, 89 hired Delhi. Nevertheless, the pressure in the 19th over increased, when the team lost their last three wickets through the run-out-which changed the tide in favor of MI. Karna Sharma played an important role, 36 picked up 3, while Mitchell Santner added 2 for 43 to ban DC by 193.
Karn Sharma was named Player of the Match. While reflecting his performance, he credited his attention and hard work, especially exposed KL Rahulβs wicket as a turn. His emotional festival, he shared, was a prayer for victory.
MI captain Hardik Pandya expressed relief and pride in the flexibility of the team. He praised Karnaβs enthusiastic magic and played an important role, swinging the match.
Delhi captain Exer Patel removed the game due to poor shot selection and soft dismissal in mid -order. He praised his bowlers, but felt that the team missed a chance, especially dew with making batting easy.
Despite the disadvantage, both sides showed promise, MI went away with a significant win and fresh speed.
