With less than a month to go for the 2025 World Test Championships (WTC) finals between Australia and South Africa at Lord’s, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that the winners of the One-Off Game will earn double the prize money compared to the previous two versions. The total award for the USD 5.76 million WTC 2023-25 cycle from Money Pool, which is already more than doubled out of the last two versions, will run with the winner USD 3.6 million (with standing at around 30,79,48,931 Indians), which is honored by the 2021 and 2023 winners.
Meanwhile, runners -up, USD will earn 2.16 million (about 18,47,96,390 Indian rupees), which is above the USD 800,000. India, two -time WTC runners -ups who finished third, will get Rs 12,31,98,048. “We have seen a very interesting third cycle of the ICC World Test Championship, where the finalist was fixed only towards the end of the competition.”
“The championship has shown remarkable performance from players from various teams, ending a final between these two extraordinary squads – a true celebration of cricket.”

South Africa topped the 2023–25 WTC Standing and became the first team to secure a place in the finals in the series of Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka with a series of series against India at home. He is chasing his first WTC title to win.

South Africa captain Temba Bavuma said, “Lords is a fitting site for this mega stability and we are all trying to give our best against Australia. It has been growing for less than a month, and I am sure that fans around the world will follow the fate of both teams.”
Meanwhile, Australia booked its place in the final with a 3–1 win over India in the border-Gavaskar Trophy. His campaign also included Pakistan’s 3–0 sweep at home and win the series over New Zealand and Sri Lanka respectively. Australia is now aiming to make history as the first two -time champion of the tournament.
“We have got the opportunity to protect the World Test Championship, especially in Lord’s. It is a will for all those involved in the last two years who have worked incredibly hard to reach the final, which is a great honor for all of us.”
Australia captain Pat Cummins said, “We are very keen to be together again in England in a few weeks and South Africa’s challenge will appear at the home of cricket.”
