The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) allegedly offered the Indian Premier League (IPL) to host the remainder of 2025. In particular, the season has been suspended for a week as the tension between India and Pakistan increases. The competition between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capital on Thursday, which took place as the 58th match of IPL 2025, was closed for security reasons and the crowd was evacuated at the venue. The next day the control board for cricket in India (BCCI) postponed IPL 2025. The tournament has 16 more matches including playoffs.
As uncertainty on the future of IPL 2025, Mentor It is reported that ECB CEO Richard Gold has already contacted its counterparts in BCCI, which is about the proposal to host the remaining season of ECB.
The report said, “India should be unable to resume the IPL after this week’s gap, one suggestion is for England to host the remaining fixtures later.”
“A senior ECB source has confirmed that this may be possible in September, although not currently no ‘active discussion’ is happening,” said.
The report further stated that a similar offer was made by the ECB when IPL 2021 was postponed due to the threat of Kovid -19. At that time, the tournament was suspended after several bio-bulbous violations between players and employees in India and growing covid cases. However, about four months later, the season was resumed in the United Arab Emirates and was completed.
A day after the decision to move the Pakistan Super League to Dubai in view of the struggle with India, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has created a U-turn and decided to postpone the 10th edition of the franchise-based T20 league for indefinitely.
PCB said in a statement on Friday, “Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the postponement of the remaining eight matches of HBL PSL X.”
The PCB announced in a press release on its official website and said that it had decided due to India’s increase in air strikes and advice received from Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
“The last 24 hours have seen the situation deteriorating on the LoC, the growth of 78 drones, and the surface missile firing from India has increased.
“The decision to postpon has been taken for advice received from Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, who has taken into account the careless aggression from India, which has moved forward at a point where national focus and emotions have been focused on the courageous efforts of Pakistan’s armed forces, which are working with our stupidity.”
It is completely another case that India has responded to a terrorist attack on innocent people only in Pahalgam, which has claimed 26 lives, and has also targeted terrorist and military establishments across the border.
