New Delhi: The Indian Embassy in Tehran on Tuesday issued an immediate advice for all Indian citizens living in the Iranian capital and individuals of the Indian origin (PIO), urging them to transfer them to safe areas as the city’s security situation is deteriorating.It came in the midst of a constant developing situation between Israel and Iran.Also read: Israel-Iran Conflict: Mea Set 24×7 Control Room; Issues helpline number to contact the Indian Embassy in TehranIn a statement posted on social media, the embassy said: “All Indian citizens and PIOs who can go out of Tehran using their own resources are advised to go to a safe place outside the city.”The embassy also requested those who have not yet contacted to do so, sharing their hideouts and contact information. “All Indian citizens who are in Tehran and are not in contact with the embassy are requested to contact the Embassy of India in Tehran immediately and provide their location and contact number,” the advisor said.

Mea sets 24×7 control room
In response to the increasing tension between Iran and Israel, the Ministry of External Affairs announced the establishment of the 24×7 control room to monitor the situation and assist Indian citizens.Mea spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal posted about the set-up of 24×7 control room on X.The Indian Embassy in Tehran also activated a round-the-clock emergency helpline to support citizens in Iran during the ongoing crisis.
Indian students went out of Tehran for security: Mea
The MEA also stated that Indian students in Tehran have been transferred from the city due to security concerns, which has a coordinated system by the Indian Embassy.The MEA said in a statement, “Indian students in Tehran have been taken out of the city for security causes, through the arrangements made by the embassy.”The ministry said that other Indian residents reaching individual transport have also been advised to leave Tehran in the light of a fast developing condition.The statement said, “Different, some Indians have been given the facility to leave Iran through the border with Armenia,” saying that the Indian Embassy in Tehran is in constant contact with the Indian community to provide all viable assistance.The ongoing Israeli aerial aggressive against Iran resulted in heavy casualties, the authorities killed more than 200 people and injured hundreds.
